Mahathir does not seem to have
heard the saying, "Do unto others as you would others
do unto you". Mahathir does not mind "doing
unto others" but heaven forbid if you ever "do unto
him" as well.
Ezam Mohd Noor, the National
Justice Party Youth Leader, has been accused of "bad mouthing"
the Prime Minister when he went all over talking about what Mahathir
has done to Anwar and the country. Never mind if what Ezam said
was the truth.
Mahathir, however, has been talking
about the "bad things" Anwar Ibrahim has done since
3rd September 1998. Mahathir went live on prime time television,
explaining in detail to the world at large, Anwar's "sexual
deeds".
In his National Day speech, in
his Hari Raya speech, in his presidential address during the
party Convention, in fact, any time at all that Mahathir opens
his mouth, he talks about Anwar Ibrahim.
Mahathir even showed hand gestures
of Anwar allegedly "masturbating" his homosexual partner
while supposedly "sodomising" him. This graphic or
more like pornographic demonstration of how the masturbation
was done revolted most Malaysians. And to think this was prime
time news, which children and unmarried girls would be watching.
But when others talk about Mahathir
they are traitors to the nation, saboteurs of Malaysia's economy,
ungrateful Malaysians who are not thankful for all they have
received, and other corny lines that even children find hard
to buy.
Mahathir knocks the West, the
Americans, and the Jews. But when anyone knocks him back they
are colonialists trying to take over the country. They are people
jealous of Malaysia's economic success who are tying to sabotage
the country's economy.
Some years back, Mahathir launched
a "Buy British Last" campaign, but Mahathir
does not consider himself as sabotaging the British economy.
However, if anyone suggests that Malaysia should not be given
preferential treatment they are traitors to the nation.
Mahathir personally attacks western
leaders. Prime Ministers and Presidents of other countries have
not been spared Mahathir's attacks. But when they attack him
back Mahathir gets extremely upset.
Mahathir campaigned against the
first and third Prime Ministers of Malaysia and asked for their
resignation. Mahathir accused the first Prime Minister of being
a "Chinese lover" who "sold
the Malays out" to the Chinese.
In 1969, Mahathir wrote letters
to the Prime Minister, which were published in the newspapers.
Mahathir went round the universities organising demonstrations
against the Prime Minister. Mahathir was subsequently sacked
from the party for his actions.
But when Mahathir is subjected
to the same medicine he labels it as a foreign plot to colonise
Malaysia. Mahathir can ask for the other Prime Ministers' resignations
but no one can ask him to resign.
Mahathir says that Kelantan State
will not be given the 600 million Ringgit they asked for to improve
the water supply in the state as, "we can do better things
with the money". Then, when people in Kelantan die from
Cholera, he gloats and says that the PAS State government cannot
even supply clean water to its people.
Is Mahathir not sabotaging the
Kelantan State economy? Who would go to Kelantan to set up a
factory when there is not enough water in the state?
Mahathir withdraws the oil royalty
to Terengganu State. Now they do not have enough money to develop
the state.
Is Mahathir not sabotaging the
Terengganu State economy? Who would go to Terengganu State to
set up a factory when Terengganu does not have enough money to
develop its infrastructure?
Mahathir is quick to point out
others' acts of sabotage but he does not see himself as sabotaging
the Kelantan and Terengganu State economies.
Mahathir should go by the maxim
"Do unto other as you would others do unto you".
Mahathir, however, can do unto others but others cannot do unto
him.
Mahathir must realise that one
must be able to receive what one dishes out.
