Law And Basic Rights To Be Incorporated
In Police Curriculum – FAC News Jun 12
The law and basic rights will be incorporated in the police curriculum
to educate members of the force on the need to exercise caution
when discharging their duties, said Inspector-General of Police
(IGP) Tan Sri Norian Mai Tuesday.
If they were not careful, they could be trapped by their own action,
he told reporters opening a human rights workshop for senior police
officers at the Police Senior Officers Training Centre in Cheras,
here.
He said there was now greater awareness among the public of their
basic rights and the power of the police in discharging their duties.
The workshop would enable members of the force to understand fully
the law and basic rights through discussions with the panel from
the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam).
