KL Federal Court
recognises the Reformasi Movement
The Kuala Lumpur Federal
Court today gave official recognition to Malaysia’s Reformasi Movement.
This morning, in the Federal Court hearing to consider the appeal
on the Habeas Corpus application filed by the Internal Security
Act detainees, the Reformasi Movement was mentioned dozens of times.
Both the defense as
well as prosecution made specific references to the Reformasi Movement
and the “Black 14” gathering, a gathering to commemorate Anwar Ibrahim’s
sentencing on the first (corruption) trial on 14 April 1999.
